The cornerstone of McConnell Athletics, this service is based on the reality that enhanced performance in any sport is based on the degree of preparation of the body and mind to be a more efficient unit relative to the demands of that sport, and in team sports, the specific position(s) the athlete is assigned.

Areas addressed include (in no particular order):

  • Muscle activation/control
  • Speed, quickness, and agility
  • Balance
  • Power and explosiveness
  • Strength
  • Muscular endurance
  • Cardio-respiratory endurance
  • Soft tissue integrity and restoration
  • Body composition
  • Mental focus/ concentration

Our objectives with each athlete are to decide on both general objectives and specific goals, to assess the individual to uncover “weak links”, to design a course of action (re: program) that when complied with will result in solutions for performance optimization while minimizing injury risk for the athlete.

In our work with team sport athletes, the purpose is to complement what the athlete is already doing within the team structure rather than try to replace it or simply “rehash” what is already being done with the team. We are able to pinpoint the individual athlete’s strengths and weaknesses and prescribe solutions, which is beyond the scope of even the best team setting

We take into account the physical, mental, and spiritual health of each athlete in guiding them to fulfill their goals and aspirations no matter if to just make the team, improve a specific attribute, earn a college scholarship, get ready for training camp, or prepare for the NFL Combine.
